, officially known as the City of Mesa, Arizona, incorporated in 1883, is the second largest city in Maricopa County located in Southeast Valley of the Phoenix metropolitan area, third largest city in Arizona behind Phoenix and Tucson, and the 38th largest city in the United States.

Mesa is 1255 feet above sea level with an average annual rainfall of 7.74 inches. The average temperature during the coldest month of December is a Hi/Lo of 67/40 degrees and during the warmest summer month of July is a Hi/Lo of 106/77 degrees.

The City of Mesa official 2014 tally has Mesa at a population of 468,012 with a median age of 34.4. And of those, 31.5% of Mesa AZ residents have an Associate’s degree or higher degree and the average Mesa household income is $61,064.

Mesa has two airports: Falcon Field and Phoenix-Mesa Airport, formerly Williams AFB which now is home to the Mesa Community College, an extension of the Chandler-Gilbert Community College, East Valley Institute of Technology, several flight schools and the Polytechnic Campus of Arizona State University in addition to the commercial Phoenix-Mesa Airport facilities.
